NATIONAL ALLIANCE ON EDIBLE OIL FORTIFICATION (NAOF)
A National Alliance on Edible oil Fortification was constituted to strengthen and extend the current portfolio of fortified edible oils in India. The NAOF worked towards building consensus and creating an enabling environment for edible oil industry to voluntarily fortify edible oils.
Key Role
- To build consensus among stakeholders on fortification of edible oil as an industry-led initiative in India
- To create an enabling environment for the edible oil Industry to voluntarily fortify edible oils with vitamin A & D and to provide technical assistance to facilitate capacity building.
- To create awareness about global developments and benefits of fortification with vitamin A & D among stakeholders, especially the consumers.
- Develop a road map based on evidence generated on merits of business led expansion of the fortified edible oil portfolio on a voluntary basis in the country.
